Melbourne Storm had not had an in-house creative before and I was able to use my creative writing, graphic design, video and motion graphic skills to establish the brand across all touchpoints.
The Billy Slater video is one of the highest rating videos I have produced. At the time I was under pressure to include kicks from other players. I felt the story was stronger if I highlighted the relationship between Billy and Cam.
Miss Squiggle was my own business. I worked on the successful pitch to get a rugby union team in Melbourne (Rebels), launching the Kate Morgan brand into NZ, film titles, an 11 part series of animated spots for NABTV (Mythbusters), a childrenswear label, videos for Richmond FC and Working Dog and pretty much anything else that came my way…
Over the 5 year period, I worked with another designer and we ran the studio independently. Producers employed by HSV 7 or in a co-production with the station were given a budget, which they could choose to spend with us or externally. It was up to us to provide great service and a continually high product that would keep the clients coming.
We worked on packaging shows (titles, segment openers, backgrounds, sets etc) and promotions.
